About Me
I, Satyadeep Gupta, hail from Puranpur, Uttar Pradesh, and I am proud to be a world record holder for the fastest ascent of Mt. Everest. Beyond my profession as a Marine Engineer, I am deeply passionate about mountaineering. My fondness for outdoor pursuits like skydiving, trail running, and rock climbing was nurtured in my humble upbringing.
Having graduated in Marine Engineering from MERI Kolkata in 2007, I embarked on my adventurous journey. Fueled by a fervor for exploration, I immersed myself in mountaineering. Training at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi, honed my skills for conquering Technical Mountains. With top grades, I completed both Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Courses, paving the way for expeditions to peaks soaring as high as 7000m.
Noteworthy among my achievements are summiting Mount Kanchenjunga (8586 meters) and Mount Makalu (8463 meters), a feat that placed me as the second individual from Uttar Pradesh to accomplish such remarkable climbs.
In a remarkable feat, I have etched my name in history by becoming the first person to scale Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse twice in a single season. Additionally, I am the first Indian to traverse the two peaks in an astonishing 11 hours and 15 minutes.
